GAINING ATTENTION


   Definition : A way or expression that is spoken so that other people
will pay their attention to what we want to. Gaining
attention usually use simple present tense.
  Asking for attention (formal) :
·        May I have your attention, please ?
·        Excuse me, …
·        Sorry to trouble you.
·        Sorry to bother you.
   Asking for attention (informal) :
·        Look here !!
·        Hi !!
·        Attention, please
·        Look at me !!
·        Look here !!
   Showing attention :
·        I see
·        Mmm…
·        Hoe interesting
·        Is that all ?
·        What’s next ?
·        Really ?
·        And then what ?
·        Oh, no !
·        Tell me more about it.
    Example :
Aria : Excuse me. Hi, Tiwi. I want to tell you something.
Tiwi : Oh, yeah… Tell me more about that.
Aria : I have surprise. My team won in the basket ball tournament,
yesterday.
Tiwi : (happy) Oh, really ? Very good, congratulation for you.
